Today's weather

Sunny and hot - it rained overnight last night so it was damp out with blue skies

Today's birds

Morning in Bright

  • No choughs for a few days
  • We heard ooming this morning near where we park, so the bronzewings are still around somewhere...
  • There was a male woodduck and a pacific black duck feeding together this morning in the usual acorn foraging spot in the park. They definitely seemed to be 'together', following around together, with the  male woodduck doing the usual 'guarding my mate' alert stance.

At home

  • Yellow faced honey eater pair still around
  • We had a pair of grey fantails land on the tomato frame in the courtyard this afternoon.
  • Magpie juvies still around with Dad this morning and Lacey later. Dad is still limping, but maybe a little less? He sat himself down in the grass at one point so that he could scratch with his 'good' foot. Presumably his bad leg won't hold him up by itself. Hope he's okay.

Other notes

  • The side grevillea has almost finished flowering. Meanwhile other things are coming into flower, like the callistemons and some of our fence plantings, including the leptospermum!
